Projects don't stop in winter. Interior remodels, year-end business cleanouts and post-holiday purges keep containers busy from December through March. Winter adds a few things to plan for.
Placement around snow
- Keep the plow path clear. Don't put the container where the plow needs to push snow.
- Shovel the spot first. The container needs to sit on a clear, flat surface, not on a snowbank.
- Mark the location if a storm is coming, so the driver can find it.
Ice and safety
- Salt or sand the path between the door and the container.
- Tarp the container when you aren't loading, so snow doesn't fill it.
- Cover the load with a tarp. Snow and ice add weight you'll pay for.
Storms
If a big storm is coming, call us. We may move a pickup earlier or later so the truck isn't on the road in the worst of it, and so the container isn't buried.
Holiday and year-end cleanouts
- Post-holiday cleanouts: boxes, old decorations, furniture replaced at the holidays
- Year-end office and shop cleanouts
- Interior remodels scheduled for the off-season
Flatten boxes and break down furniture. A 10 or 15 yard container usually covers a home cleanout.
