How to Load a Dumpster Without Overloading It
An overloaded container can't be hauled safely. The driver may have to ask you to take material out, or you may get billed for extra weight. A little planning avoids both problems. Call or text 508-466-5460 or book online.

The two limits
- Volume: nothing above the top rail. Debris sticking out can fall off on the road.
- Weight: every rental has a weight allowance. Go over it and you pay per ton, and very heavy loads may not be legal to haul.
Loading order
- Heavy and flat first. Put plaster, tile and wood flat on the floor and spread them out across the whole container.
- Big items next. Break down furniture and cabinets so they lie flat.
- Fill the gaps. Use bags and small debris to fill the spaces.
- Finish level. Keep the top flat and below the rail.
Heavy materials to watch
Shingles, concrete, brick, dirt, stone, tile and wet wood. A container half full of these can weigh more than one filled to the top with household items. If your job is heavy, tell us and we may suggest a smaller container or more than one haul.
Keep it dry
Rain adds weight. Cover the container with a tarp when you aren't loading.
Don't load
Hazardous waste, paint, solvents, batteries, tires, propane tanks or liquids.
Weight check
If you think you're close to the limit, call before pickup. We'd rather talk it through than surprise you.
